Order, delivery and assembly: the long road in furniture

In furniture the product often arrives to order, is large and heavy, needs a delivery appointment and assembly, and the customer pays a deposit. The system tracks order status, records the supplier delivery date, plans the delivery and assembly appointment and links payments to the order.

Order and payment

A customer order is opened, a deposit is taken and the order is placed with the supplier. The supplier delivery date is recorded; if there is a delay, an e-mail to the customer is prepared. The balance is collected on delivery or by invoice and all movements are visible on one order.

Payment methods are assessed separately according to the company’s contracts.

Delivery and assembly

When the item arrives, delivery day and time window are agreed with the customer; vehicle and assembly team are planned. At delivery the customer signature and any damage note are recorded, and a claim is opened with the supplier for missing or damaged parts.

Transport vehicle and driver planning is set up according to the company’s own processes.

Swiss-specific points

In Switzerland quality in homes matters; delivery in mountain areas and apartment buildings may need special planning. The system adds delivery notes (floor, lift, access) to the order; prices are shown in CHF.
