Return
Reason code.
Returns are often managed separately and in a scattered way. The system starts a return with a record, plans the collection or drop-off point, inspects the incoming item and, depending on the decision, books it into stock, or sends it to repair or disposal; the customer sees the status.
A return is opened with order number, item, quantity and reason code. The item is collected by adding it to a driver tour, or the customer leaves it at a drop-off point; the status is updated in the record.
The drop-off point network is set up according to the company's own means.
In the warehouse the incoming item is inspected, its condition recorded and a decision made: restock, repair, discounted sale or disposal. The decision is entered in the stock and customer record; the customer is informed by e-mail.
Refunds or account corrections are made by accounting.

Swiss e-commerce buyers expect returns, and the return period, notice language and currency vary by customer. The system keeps customer language and return terms in the record; legal interpretation of the right of return is made by the company and its specialist.
A label can be prepared by e-mail; carrier label integration is assessed separately.
