In electronics sales the item's serial number, warranty period and any service record matter. The system records the serial number at sale, calculates the warranty end date, links service requests to the customer and associates accessories with the main product.

Serial number and warranty
At sale the item's serial number is scanned or entered and linked to the customer record. The warranty period is defined per product group, the end date is calculated and it can be seen on one screen when the customer asks.
Warranty terms are defined according to manufacturer and company policy.
Service and accessories
When a service request is opened, the product, serial number, fault description and status are recorded; the product is tracked as sent to the manufacturer or service and returned, and an e-mail notice is prepared for the customer. Accessories matching the main product are suggested on the sales screen.
Communication with the manufacturer’s service runs by e-mail; automatic connection to manufacturer systems is assessed separately.
