Core Web Vitals: speed for Danish businesses

The three numbers Google measures, quick wins and how to track real-user speed on Google.dk.

The three numbers Google watches

Core Web Vitals measure how fast the main content appears, how quickly the page reacts and how stable it is while loading.

  • LCP (largest content visible): aim for under 2.5 seconds
  • INP (response to taps and clicks): aim for under 200 ms
  • CLS (layout shift): aim for under 0.1

Why speed pays in Denmark

Danish users are on fast fixed and mobile networks and have little patience. A slow shop loses sales to the next result on Google.dk, and speed is also a ranking signal.

Quick wins

Resize and compress images, use modern formats such as WebP or AVIF, load fonts efficiently and remove scripts you do not need.

  • Serve images in WebP or AVIF at the right size
  • Cache pages and use a CDN with servers close to Denmark
  • Defer third-party scripts such as chat and trackers
  • Reserve space for images and banners to stop layout shifts

Measure real users

Lab tests help, but Google ranks on field data from real Chrome users. Check the Core Web Vitals report in Search Console and PageSpeed Insights every month.
