App or website? An Irish view

When a mobile app really makes sense for an Irish business and when a website is enough.

Website first

For most local businesses a fast, mobile-friendly site is enough and brings customers from Google.ie. An app makes sense when users come back often.

When an app pays off

Think about an app for loyalty programmes, booking follow-up, notifications or offline use. In rural areas with weak signal, offline support is especially valuable.

Cost

iOS and Android mean separate investment; a shared codebase lowers it. Store rules and updates are ongoing work.

A middle path

Starting with a web app (PWA) and moving to a native app once demand shows is the lowest-risk route.
