Design for the thumb
On a phone, a visitor wants your phone number, address, opening hours and main action within seconds. Put them near the top, make buttons large enough to tap and keep forms short.
- One clear action per screen, such as call, book or order
- Tap-to-call and tap-to-map links
- Large text and good contrast outdoors
- Forms that remember the keyboard type for e-mail and phone
Keep pages light
Large photos and heavy scripts slow pages on mobile networks, especially outside the capital. Resize and compress images, load below-the-fold images later and remove scripts you do not need.
Check it on real devices
Open the site on a mid-range Android phone and an iPhone on a normal mobile connection, not just on office Wi-Fi. If you wait, your visitors are waiting too.
Make it findable
Mobile-friendly pages, clear titles and a complete Google Business Profile help local customers find you when they search from their phone.
