Hours and disbursements
Fewer errors.
Invoices follow UK practice: 20% VAT shown separately, HMRC Making Tax Digital in mind, and payment by Faster Payments, Bacs or card. Recorded hours and disbursements become a bill draft; it is checked and sent as a Bacs. When payment arrives the bill matches itself.
At period end hours and disbursements are listed per file; the partner or responsible person reviews, adjusts and approves. The bill is prepared in the client’s language, with advances and retainers deducted.

In the UK the Bacs is standard; format, IBAN and reference rules are clarified with your payment provider and accountant, and VAT remains the practice’s responsibility.
