Mechanical engineering: bill of materials and assembly

In mechanical engineering a product consists of hundreds of parts, each with a drawing version. The system links bill of materials, parts, work orders and assembly steps, so a missing part is seen in advance.

  • German, French, Italian, English
  • QR-bill and CHF
  • Roles and audit log

Bill of materials

The bill of materials is defined on several levels; main assembly, subassembly and single part are linked. When an order is placed, the required parts are compared with stock and purchasing.

Data transfer from CAD is assessed separately by file type.

Assembly

Assembly steps are shown in order together with the relevant drawing; a completed step is recorded. Before delivery, missing or pending parts appear in one list.

For machinery directive and CE matters, a specialist is consulted.

How we work

  1. 1

    Clarify the need

By e-mail we discuss your processes, roles, existing systems and how data is moved, and set the scope in writing.

  2. 2

    Build and connect

We build the solution around your workflow and connect it to e-mail, calendar, documents and payment.

  3. 3

    Test and launch

We test every flow with realistic cases, train your team and go live only when it is right.

Swiss-specific points

Swiss machine builders often export and need multilingual documentation. The system prepares assembly instructions and delivery documents in DE, FR, IT, EN or TR; export and customs matters are clarified with a specialist.

Frequently asked questions

Can a multi-level bill of materials be defined?
