E-invoicing and Peppol in the Netherlands

What Dutch businesses should know about structured e-invoices, Peppol and invoicing public bodies.

What e-invoicing means

An e-invoice is structured data a system can read, not a PDF. It lets the buyer process it automatically, which saves time and errors on both sides.

Peppol in practice

Peppol is the network most used in the Netherlands to exchange e-invoices. You connect through an access point, often offered by your accounting package, and send invoices in the agreed format.

Public bodies

Dutch government bodies require structured e-invoices from suppliers. If you work for municipalities, ministries or agencies, plan e-invoicing before your first invoice.

Between companies

B2B e-invoicing is mostly voluntary today, but large buyers increasingly ask for it, and EU plans point to more of it. Building it into your system now avoids rework later.

What we build

We connect your webshop or portal to Exact Online, Twinfield, Moneybird or AFAS so invoices carry correct 21% VAT lines, company numbers (KvK) and payment terms, and can be exported as structured files.
