Groupage: collection, transfer and distribution

In groupage, small shipments from many senders are combined on the same vehicle. The system tracks each pallet and parcel by its own barcode or number; at collection, the transfer hub and distribution it shows where each piece is.

  • Roles and audit log

Collection and transfer

Each shipment is recorded with item count, weight and size; a label is printed. At the transfer hub, pieces are scanned in and out, so missing or surplus pieces are noticed the same day.

The use of barcode readers and label printers is assessed separately.

Distribution and price

Delivery rounds are built from distribution lines and sent to the driver app. Price is calculated by weight, size, pallet count and zone tariff and passes to the invoice line.

Tariffs are defined according to the company's own price list.

Spanish-specific points

In Spain, groupage works across very different distances between dense urban areas and mountainous rural regions. The system holds postcode-based zone tariffs and delivery notes in the languages your customers speak; prices are calculated in EUR.
