AED, VAT and local levies: correct UAE hotel invoices

Teams in the Emirates work in English and Arabic side by side, with Turkish common among staff and customers, so screens and messages are prepared for all three. Prices in UAE dirhams, the right VAT and your municipality's local levies: your hotel system reproduces UAE rules cleanly. Hotel software for the UAE calculates in AED, shows VAT correctly and knows the local levies. That makes hotel management software a dependable partner.

Why UAE has special rules

UAE hotels invoice in UAE dirhams and apply a special VAT rate to accommodation, different from the rate for other services such as food. In many places a local levies also applies, which differs by municipality and person. Foreign software is often not prepared for this.

If the invoice does not separate these items cleanly, accounting has to rework them and guests ask questions. A UAE solution models the rules correctly from the start.

How the system handles it

Prices and invoices run in AED. For overnight stay, breakfast and other services you store the appropriate VAT rates, shown on the invoice and in reports. Check the current rates with the UAE Taxation Office (ATO).

You set up the local levies according to your municipality's rules, per person and night, with the usual exemptions. It appears as its own line on the invoice and can be reported for settlement with the municipality.
